WORD ON THE STREET
What People Think about Nuclear Energy
Here are the results of some polling questions regarding nuclear energy:
- Likely general election voters across Colorado favor nuclear energy more than 2:1 (53% support, 25% oppose).
- 96 percent of likely Colorado voters prioritize affordability as the most important factor when it comes to powering their homes.
- Reliability is a close second, with 94% of voters saying is is either very of somewhat important to them.
- Environmental concernts rate highly as well (84% important), though not as high as affordability and reliability.
Why not nuclear? Good question. As your legislator why he or she is hostile toward the one source that can cleanly, safely, and reliably power the state for less money.
